Actually, adding a bit more to that, I?ve just compared Wilkinson?s to Halfords on a few other products and guess what, everything is cheaper at Wilkinson?s:

T Cut standard £5.99 to £3.99
Turtlewax Zipwax car shampoo £2.99 to £2.79

If Halfords also had prices on their oil, it would probably still be cheaper at somewhere like Wilkinson?s. (Castrol GTX £ 3.75 a liter or redex treatment of £3.75). I try not to buy from Halfords because everything seems more expensive and the quality doesn't always seem to match the price. I can get nick nacks from my VW specialist which cost less and are better quality.

Could be worse, check out the price of this!

At least they provide refills for life....bet they hope they don't sell any to a chain of car dealers!

Oh, you still need another product to treat car before you put on this stuff. In fairness though the normal Zymol range is very good.

Well, Halfords certainly seems dear. The only thing is, I can think of three car bits and bobs shops I went to around here, and they have all gone. So it's Halfords or lump it, if I can't find it on the internet.

Noticed this last week

I wanted a cheapo tax disc holder for a car park permit - Halfords £1.99, identical one from local auto accessory shop 79p!

Also was looking at a flip front CD player in Halfords which was behind a plastic screen - wanted to see the flip front operate and how it looked "closed" - they either coudn't or couldn't be bothered to take the perspex screen down.

I bought the same cd player elsewhere for £50 less!

You'll now realise the meaning behind the signature below...:-)

Apart from Wilkinson, we also have stores such as Savers and B and M in my town - all sell top branded products for motoring, personal hygine, gardening etc at prices that can be half or less that of the high street stores and supermarkets.

Jumping on the bandwagon I know but in my last car, I decided to put a cd player in (the one that got nicked).

I was looking around and saw a really really nice one in Halfords for £249.99. Even I draw the line for gadgetry in cars there so I looked elsewhere.

Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across a very good website I'd used before for electrical goods selling the exact same cd player for only £140.

You can guess where I bought it from.
