Traffic police are being awarded points that vary in accordance with who they manage to pull over.

Thames Valley police has given its 120 traffic officers "aide-memoire cards" which carry a chart awarding different points for catching different offenders.

Their monthly target is 200 points.


The Daily Mail was more rabid about it, but can't find the storey online.

I'm sure it was along the lines of :

Read (one point)
Yellow (two points)
Green (three points)
Brown (four points)
Blue (five points)
Pink (six points)
Black (seven points)

You get nothing for a white but you need one before you attempt to pull over a coloured car

Max target is 147 I believe.

too true sir_hiss

i was always pulled in the last 8 years for having green cars, mondao, laguna X2
when i had my 2X Silver mondeos i never got pulled.

had them between 1year to 1year 4 months.

I knew one of the squaddies who did sentry duty at RAF Leeming.
They used to play 'Stop and Search Snooker' on this basis.
Lots of red cars were intimately searched on a regular basis.

Yep, I messed up on this slightly (too hasty in trying to be the first to post). According to a Google on the subject, the cue ball is the police car so pulling over a white car is deemed a foul and your opponent gets 4 points. I've just got shot of my red Volvo and I'm know commuting in wifes white Hyundai - up and down the M4 !
