Good garages near or close to newcastle? - smokescreen
Hi there,

I'm new to newcastle, and was just wondering if anyone knew any good garages they could recommend? The directories list is quite vague - some of the addresses arent even correct.

Addington Motors in Byker- not used them for nearly a year, but they have been excellent in the past. They have fitted non-standard parts, and correctly diagnosed faults others failed to. VW/Audi specialist but i have had work done on other brands of car there. Good prices too. E-mail me if you cant find a number. Other than that there is a good garage near Jesmond- noth jesmond garage i think its called. Only been there once mind, but great service and prices.

If you don't mind me asking smokescreen, what kind of car do you have? I know the name of 2 garages which I would recommend, one a VW specialist and one a Renault specialist. BTW, the Renault specialist will service other makes, but the VW specialist, I don't think, will.

Peugeot 306 Dturbo. I managed to get the garage who im purchasing the car from to Service, MOT and replace the cam belt for a good price in the end.

Thanks for the suggestions netherless, i'll keep them in mind for next time.

When I was working up there a few years ago I went to a garage in Longbenton adjacent to the DSS offices. From memory it was an old church or crypt or similar.Had an old sierra at the time but they did a good job & were relatively cheap.
