If Americans stop buying SUV's it'll be a disaster for their car industry. I read that Ford makes $10,000 on every Explorer sold but next to nothing on ordinary sedans.

If your heart was really bleeding it would be cheaper to get it 'repaired' in the UK than the USA!

High UK fuel costs or high USA medical costs - which whould you choose?

I think they already have. The SUV is all part of the american dream like the fifties fin tailed enormities were. That's why toyota do so well over there; they sell the affordable dream. Ford is in trouble, ditto GM so there are going to be some interesting times ahead.
