Not personally, but if it was a car i had bought either from new or secondhand and had Citroen FSH, serviced when due, and Citroen were denying all responsibility i'ld get a engineers report done send it to the dealership manager ( recorded delivery) with a soliciters letter demanding action be taken. If not then SCC route to recover cost.

Early 1990's i bought a 2ndhand Ford Orion with 56K from local Ford dealers with 3 months warranty. 1 Week before then end of the 3 month period it lost reverse and fifth selections in the box. Dealership took it back in to diagnose and found collapsed bearings at both ends of the shaft."Well then", i said "get it repaired", "can't do that sir Fair wear and tear", not covered by the warranty so unless you authorise us to proceed or pay for the work to strip the gearbox then it's staying with us.

Paid about £50 IIRC for soliciters letter threatening this and that and sent it recorded delivery.

Suddenly this was not a FWAT issue and it would be repaired FOC.

Small Claims Court recovered the cost of the soliciter. Funnily enough i've never been back to them and about 5/6 years ago they were no longer a Ford dealership.Garages like that deserve to go out of business and i have no sympathy for anyone made redundant as a result.
