Hi
Hi just wondered if anyone had experience in dealing with them and if they were any good ? As I considering using them as fed up with main dealer service/labour charge's . They seem to have an extensive service menu list and are approved by the AA of which . I am a member so would get a small discount off their price's .
Many thanks

The one near me used to be a lex autocentre and the guys there were really good and never forced anything on you that you didnt need - old parts were always kept and shown to you etc.
Made the mistake of going back when the name changed - and so had the staff. they were, in general useless - even when it came to something quite small - the rear view mirror in my car had fallen off, so when I put the car in for an MOT I asked them to fix it. Went to pick the car up and they said they had tried but didnt have the right stuff so had failed the car for not having a rear view mirror, but would order the correct adhesive and do it when I took the car back. Anyway, 2 attempts later they couldnt fit the mirror so refused to give me an MOT - in the end I took it somewhere else to get the mirror fixed and took it back to Nationwide for the 4th time where they made me wait for 1 hour while they performed the whole MOT again and then finaly gave me the certificate.
Never would I use them again!

From what you said does not sound that positive . If they can't do a simple job like that how could they do anything else more complicated to your car . I definatley agree with you not wanting to use them again !

I used to get my car and my wife's serviced there. Tyres were expensive and on my wife's car, the rear light cluster was broken and failed the MOT, although it was fine in the morning...Maybe just a coincidence?
We don't go there any more.

I use them solely for MOT as they take Tesco vouchers so MOT effectively costs me only a little over £10.
When they failed one of the cars on a tyre their replacement cost (unbranded) wasn't far short of the cost of 4 Michelins in a deal at Costco just up the road.

Hi,
Our experience.
Took my Wifes Citroen Xsara (2000) for main service and MOT.
Car still on orig tyres and had covered 32000 miles.
Left car in morning and got phoned to say disks and pads need changing. We said we are selling the car soon so can't you just do pads and they said no.
Cost for Service, Pads, shoes and break fluid change £400!! discounted from £500!!!!!
When my Wife picked the car up it smelt of petrol. Took it back and told 'its perfectly safe, probally just some oil on the engine'
Next night wife and 2 small children break down on a frosty night busy dual carragway. Green flag called. Suprised to see big pool of petrol from uder the car. The Fuel filter had been changed but not tightned thus the petrol pipe away.
Not happy. Rung up for conpinsation and told 'sorry. We will give you a disount for next service'
Its a shame as the year before we used the 'AA' service centre who were excellent but they have gone bust 'merged' with autocentres'
Wife lost all faith in car so next weekend spent £12000 on new scenic. Not often one spends £400 a week before selling it!!
Just my experience.
Kind Regards
Jlo

Don't bother unless you like unqualified moonkeys bodging your car. They used to be Apple car centres and featured on Watchdog and another undercover programme (cannot remember the name now). my friend had to take his Passat to our local Nationwide as the warranty company instructed,to have the crankshaft oil seal replaced as it had dumped most of the oil in his drive. With Passats, the front of the car has to come off to do this so hardly a five minute job. They completed this in 2 hours! My friend drove home and guess what? The engine dumped its oil again. When I examined the car for him I found that they had squirted copious amounts of bathroom sealant all around.
It took complaints to the warranty company and an engineers report before they put it right.
Stay well clear.
