Have a 2004 Fiesta zetec & the CD player keeps "jumping" when driving over rough road surfaces - does anyone else have this problem ??
|
|
Pre-recorded CD's or home made CDR's?
|
either,
the "jumping" is caused by the roadsurface not by the CD being played - as if the CD player doesn't have a decent "antishock" system, never had this in my 6000cd system in the Puma so I'm guessing the unit is faulty. Still under warranty so will be booking it in at the local ford dealer

I'd get it replaced under warranty.
We've had about 5 of these Fiestas and the CD players have all been fine.

Sounds right to me.early cd players didnt have a large anti shock/memory ie player records into memory. Before you hear it.. shock takes place software auto locates missed point and corrects. In other words you miss nothing.Faulty unit.

Get a CD Lens cleaner (in my experience a CD with some brushes stuck to it!), from somewhere like Woolies, and try that a few times.
Worked for my car CD player.

new one ordered under warranty - although had some "debate" with the ford dealer who insisted they wouldn't do anything with the car until we produced the service history book (forgot to take it with us). After trying to explain that it wasn't necessary because the CD player is a non-serviceable item dealer insisted NO SERVICE BOOK, NO WARRANTY WORK.
Resolved situation by calling FORD PROTECT who echoed my view, had to phone dealer back to tell them exactly how their own warranty scheme works !!!
From my experiences though another example of typical Ford customer service
