im getting closer to finding the perfect car.
ok here goes
its got to be an auto.
needs to get over 40mpg on motorway at 70mph
big and safe and strong (did bonnie tyler do a song like that ???)
alcantera seats.
very very comfy driving position.
decent handling, sometimes i like to throw it round the bends.
got to carry sum stuff, like toolbox and spares, so a saloon is not a problem. got roof rails for other big stuff.(which isnt often)
around £14-15K
like red dials, not green on night journeys.
gota have cruise
the only car i see like that is a bmw525d auto avus sport.
any one know of anything different?
dont like fords/vauxhalls/passat/jagstype/
do like audi a4/a6, some of these dont have cruise tho as standard ;-(
volvo v70,
but then again i do like the audi convertibles. they do a 2.5 tdi as well, but they are 20K. sheeesh.

Don't go for the convertable, the roof rails will put permanent creases in the fabric and they may not iron out!

Take a look at www.audidiesels.com for Audis...
(I've had no dealings with the company myself.)

'big and safe and strong'i think was in the lyrics of 'so macho' by Sinnita.

Toss up between a Signum and a Beemer ?

Bonnie Tyler's lyrics were "He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast", so close enough to a car description.

For the 40+mpg I would think that Audi would be the surer bet. I don't think BMW 5 series diesels would do that on average, the petrol models certainly won't.

PU i have to have a signum april 2006.
this year i can carry on with opt out scheme.
but megane is a bit carp to drive, want a bigger heavier car.
those a6 allroads look alright.
2.5 tdi multronic does 40-50mpg.
nice.
