One for DD methinks, is the autobox in the new shape vectras the same in the 1.8 as the 2.2 petrol & diesel, as i noticed in Parkers the 1.8 said CVT, but the others didnt, and are the boxes as good as in the old shape, ta.

To be perfectly honest with you, I've no idea. Looking at the Vauxhall website, it does say
"Five-speed automatic transmission with Active Select function 2.2i 16v Direct/3.2i V6 24v/3.0CDTi V6 24v)"
and
"Six-speed automatic transmission with Active Select function (1.9CDTi 16v [150PS])"
No mention of those auto gearboxes being fitted to the 1.8 engines.
The above gearboxes are still made by Aisan-Warner, and previously Aprilia has given these excellent reports.
I've found the gearbox to be more flexible and smoother than the one fitted in the previous Vectra, although I do miss the sport button.
