Was in Cambridge with wife today. On inside of two lanes in static traffic. A Ford Escort in outer lane with 4 people in it. The driver was slapping his steering wheel in (sort of) time to the music blaring from all 4 open windows. As traffic moved off, he suddenly cut in front of me and swerved left and right and slammed his anchors on. I saw him take his seat belt off and knew he was going to get out and come to my car, why? Who knows. He stood next to my door and I wound down my window. I was mildly surprised to see a "Breast Cancer" ribbon on his chest, then I looked up at his curly hair atop his pock marked face. He said to me "You have a very unfortunate manner in the context of your driving abilities" I got out of my car and unfolded myself to my full 6'3" 17stone frame. I told him it was the most polite road rage encounter I had ever had and that I wished to shake his hand in the context of communicating no bad feelings to a fellow human being. He got in his car and drove off!

Dunno what they smoke, but must have been strong, cos he didn't seem to feel the crushing vice like grip I took on his hand as I led him back to his car and dumped him back in it.

BobbyG...No idea what we did, other than that we were in a 4X4 in Cambridge City centre. Was mellow, chilled...had had a night away with the significant other in a quaint Suffolk market town, had a nice lunch, a mooch around the shops and were on way back home....still in mellow non London mood. Interestingly, the ugly guys pals in the car with him didn't get out. It was just him.

It's strange how some people refer to someone else's Ford Escort as a Ford Escort, but then coyly refer to their own car as a 4x4.
I couldn't give a 4x what method of drive someone's car has ~ make and model will do sufficiently! ;-)

I think he may have used the verb in the passive voice. For those interested, the car I was in was a Sub Forester Xln...one of the more discrete(?) 4X4's, so thanks for asking.

Actually, if Tack's stands by his description of the incident, it would appear that Tack assaulted the other driver, but that the posh lad didn't assault or threaten Tack. Pass the Mace to the Cambridge lad :)

nothing wrong with aston, i have lived here all my life, its just that new years shooting that happeend a few yrs ago and everyone thinks its a bad place.... even though i live on the road next to where it happened i would never move from here.
just thought i would ''stick up'' for my part of birmingham!

Ah yes the difference between Aston and Cambridge. All I'll say was the Banner spread accross one of the Uni's Halls of Residence in the late 70s. "Benny is Innocent". Doubt whether Cambridge students could be bothered.
