Spring is almost here, and a youngish mans heart turns to thoughts of a new car. I have a Subaru Forester XLN special edition, June 2004 04 plate, leather, climate, satnav/cd, all the spec edition extras as standard, 5300miles on clock, every journey documented from date of purchase. Was wondering what I could get p/x on a new car, but neither Glass guide or Parkers show the model. Any ideas?

Only 5300 miles?
Simple answer - keep it!

I can think of only one reason to change the car....get a Forester XT!
Otherwise why change?

Tack...
I bought my Forester XT Auto with leather in November 2004. It was one year old and had 10,000 miles. The previous owner had put on a stainless steel rear bumper protector and has various nets in the boot.
We paid £18,000 IIRC, with a £10,000 px offer against a Honda CRV. I think thew car was about £23,500 new. The previous owner bought the Forester 2.5 as he bought a larger caravan and needed more torque.
So with than info, I suspect you can work out what you might get for your car. Where are you based? Near Manchester we have Robinsons in Rochadle and Monks Heath near Alderley Edge. I prefer to deal with the latter.

Thanks for the help. I am in Greater London, but willing to travel a reasonable distance for a deal. I did email Glass for an explanation as to why the XLN wasn't shown on their guide, but didn't get a reply. Although the XLN is a nice drive, it feels a bit gutless. The handling and quality is superb, but having gone from a very torquey BMW 2.0l diesel turbo, I think the XT will suite me better. It was out of my price range new, but now feel I can handle the cost.

Best of luck.
XLn was a limited edition I think so that's probably why its not in Glass's.
My XT does not have sat nav so I suppose its not worth suggesting you sell your XLn privately and have a look at mine!!!
