Motoring services group RAC has agreed to be bought by Norwich Union-owner Aviva for £1.1bn ($2.1bn).

This makes NU a massive empire, the RAC purchase also includes BSM.

I suppose it had to happen as NU Rescue which started a couple of years ago uses RAC. NU lease the RAC service/vans, stick NU branding all over it and hey presto-instant nationwide rescue service.
Logical next step is to just buy the whole thing. Which they did.
Sounds like Remington-I like the product so much I bought the company!

Interestingly, AXA had just sold their motor insurance business to RAC so my renewal quote came from RAC (for 05/03/05). Norwich Union then proceeded to better that quote, and I got 14 months for the price of 12. Perhaps my timing was just right!
