Hi,
My wife's '94 1.0 Micra is showing signs of poor idling etc. as discussed on earlier posts. The main culprit seems to be the throttle body and a suggested fix was to re-solder 3 connectors. Doing that isn't a problem, but I was wondering if anyone tried it and solved the issue before getting my soldering iron out.
Any help much appreciated.

Have a look inside the throttle body first. If it's really black in there, then clean it with carb cleaner and an old toothbrush. You will probably have to remove it to do the job properley.

I have repaired loads of these by re-soldering the printed circuit with total success.I would definitely NOT recommend that the throttle body be cleaned & brushed-there is some very delicate electronics housed in the air intake.

Hi there, is this repair self explanatary i.e dry joints or knowing which wires to solder.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the advice. I gave the re-solder a go and it seems to have cured the fault. Which joint was dry wasn't obvious so I gave all 6 a heat and re-flow just to be sure.
I didn't do the cleaning job as the interior of throttle body ws immaculate, the car has only done 60k and has always been well serviced.
To Big Davey, there is a web site where I got pictorial intructions from a web site in Australia. The link was in an earlier thread.
The link I used was:

As an old hand at soldering, don't just heat the posts and hope the old stuff works, always re-flow new solder in to make teh join good.

Neil, thanks very much, very keen to find a fix as I have so many units on cars faulty.

Big Davey.
