Cousin's MX5 driver's electric window is stuck half way down (not good in the snow!)
Passenger one works fine.
Does anyone know if there is separate fuses for each window? Is there a way of manually pulling it up? Any other suggestions where I should be looking first?

Can you hear any movement in the door when the window switch is operated?It is possible that the bowden drive cable has broken & has jammed the mechanism (very common fault)Cable can be bought seperately from motor ,but it is a very fiddly job to fit.

I had this problem on a rover and my son on his corsa. A quick squirt of silicon spray (furniture polish will do) down the side chanels and the window wotked fine
|
Thanks for your suggestions so far. Due to the snow she couldn't bring the car down for me to see! Will maybe get it tomorrow.
