I havn't slowed down much, though.

Good grief! Cannot believe that PG's link is almost a year and a half old now. Guess that makes us all about a year and a half older. Still think it's inappropriate for me to divulge my age, though! ;)

Well for my $0.02 worth I qualify for HMG's munificence in August (after filling in countless forms to get MY money back from 42 years of toil and graft, mind you). However I believe age is all in the mind and my lovely partner of 6 years who is less than half my age tells me you're as old as the woman you feel....or something.
Therefore I claim immunity from anno domini, which is instantly affirmed by inserting my creaking joints into my '69 Mustang and slipping in a Beach Boys 4-track. Alas neither my physician Dr Elizabeth Gomez shares this point of view and neither do Blue Cross when they send me my annual medicare renewal notice.
|
I have just proved my own point. The Beach Boys are on an 8 track cartridge of course not a 4 track. I wonder why it is that I can remember the number plate without fail of every vehicle I have owned back through the mists of time, but not where I put my glasses 3 minutes ago. I think it's called "having a 'senior moment'".

56. Good to know that there are plenty who are senior to me.
1948 was an excellent year for port.

So, what is the average age of a 'Back Roomer'? My guess, having seen the spread of individual ages, is that it will be pretty much the same as the average age of the adult population of the UK. No surprise there, then!

As soon as I've swallowed all my medicines and tablets, found out exactly where I am, had some All-Bran, taken the dog for a walk (it is Wednesday isn't it?), managed to wake the other half up so she can enjoy what's left of the day and check that I didn't leave the front door open all night yet again, I'll work it out......
Now what was the question again?

It's L'escargot to you (not l'escargot) and it's English that you don't study, not english. Sheez! I studied engineering as well, but I don't use that as an excuse for sloppy grammar!

>>But apparently you haven't got enough time to ensure that you write grammatically correct English, or to use the necessary punctuation marks and upper case letters!
Mmmm. A point which would have been well made were it not for the inappropriate use of a comma and sentence construction of dubious validity.

77 and still going fast (in some odd places nowadays, away from anti-motoring things).
|
OK, I worked it all out for you. There were 79 respondants (inc self) giving a range of 18 to 77 years old. This produced an average backroom age of 41 years and 9 months with a standard deviation of 13 years and 9 months.
So the "average" backroomer is aged between 28 and 55 years old.
|
Well I'm 64 and 6 months, so thank goodness I don't fall under the horrible label of "average". I would prefer to think the category was "outstanding".
Any deviations I may have I hope are better than "standard".
All TIC ;+)

I thank you also Tomo. The thought of being the oldest old git on the BR was v. depressing.
