Does anyone out there know if I can claim against tax 100% of my contract hire payments on a Light Goods Vehicle (van)? I'm self employed sole trader.
I know it can't be done for contract hire of cars with a sale price of over £12K, but I'm getting conflicting views on vans.

Not a tax expert by any means, but the helpline people (details on inland revenue website or local tax office) have always been very helpful whenever I've had a query.
You don't have to give your details to get an answer from them.
I would say best get the answer from the horse's mouth.

Provided that it is a contract hire agreement, ie you hand the asset back at the end of the hire and you cannot ever opt to purchase, and it is a proper van, ie one designed primarily for the carriage of goods of burden then yes.
If it's a dual cab pick up possibly ....
