MW, you can get a new swction of material stitched in, so no one will notice.
We had this problem with the seat edges wearing away, in Royal Mail vans, from repeat in & out of the drivers seat, during deliveries.
In some of this type of repairs, a plastic finish was stitched on the raised area of the seat.
Worked well.
