Im thinking of buying an old shape Supra Turbo (about a H plate), does anyone have any horror stories about these??
Am a being unwise, will it cost me my savings account repairing the thing or can I just dust of my medallion buy one and live happily ever after????
PS What is a sensible price for a Supra turbo??

Andy - The Mk3 ('86-'92) Supra was notorious for blowing head gaskets. More info at www.supras.com.

My mate sold an 86 or 87 non-turbo Supra for £2k last week. Bought it for £1,250. Bit of rot in one front wheel arch and scuffs on the bumpers but apart from that, fine. No mayo under the oil cap either. These used to be film lighting cameramen's favourite cars and many did mega motorway mileage from which they could have been haircut back ten years ago.

Must have full service history. Oil changes on the button are essential as these engines are very fragile. I have personal experience of cylinder head failure which seems to be a common problem. Nice car otherwise.
