Does it bug anyone that they took away one lane for the M6 toll road leaving only two lanes. So where the split is, it causes a bottleneck for the old road

Where - I drive both sections and don't know where you mean, other just at the entry points. These do not appear to have caused problems to me.

This is a standard method of splitting a motorway, used extensively elsewhere....M6/M55, M42/M40.
Biggest problem is not the stealing of a lane but the drivers who dont read the roadsigns and decide to change lane (often dangerously) at the last moment.

Or knowing the road extremely well, change lane (often dangerously) at the last moment!!
Saves all that slowing down early and queuing!

Never noticed this as I'm usually headed for the toll road. What I have nearly been caught by is folks taking the "escape lane" that gives a last chance to avoid the toll road.
