And to add; a very nice 78K mile Mondeo 2.0 Ghia 2001 Y went for £3,850 to a delightful chap from Southampton.

And having driven it tonight, it's a revelation. What an utterly woinderful car to drive. Toild my Dad about the price last night and now he wants one. He'd assumed a 4yo one would be about £8,000 (!).

Cambelt tomorrow and away we go. (I do wonder if I should be getting major work done on a day when the mechanics will go to the pub...)

Anyway, to all you Mondeo drivers out there who always recommend them, thanks.

Mondeo's are great, Ford dealers and their customer service on the whole are unfortunately not.

That probably applies to every manufacturer.

Hopefully the original purchaser didn't pay anything like list price, otherwise that's a lot of depreciation.
Mind you, even nearly new ones can be had in Ford main dealers for around 10 grand.

PS - Yes it's a camchain, so I've saved "about £200" according to my garage.

PPS - as for Ford Dealerships - never plan to go to one. I use a terrific garage in Southampton, E & J Jarvis.
