Cheap parking at Gatwick?

Cheap parking at Gatwick? - AN Other
I need 2 weeks parking at or near Gatwick from 17 Dec to 1 Jan. Quotes are coming in at £80 odd. Before I go for it, has anyone found any better options (apart from public transport), or dodges?

Last time we flew from there we used a car park behind the Shell Garage on the road to East Grinstead (it's also a Renault dealership). Its a couple of years ago, but we booked it through APH. Three weeks including a night in the on airport Hilton was about £80.

Have used BCP there. Good shuttle buses.

AN Other - I agree with Renault Family that £80 is cheap.I've just done a quick check of three companies the local yellow pages and none beat it

Lots of hotels and guest houses do cheap parking with an overnight stay but I would not consider some of the parking very secure from the local scroats and vandals....

I work not a million miles from Gatwick and if you can tell me which firm you are using and ask them exactly where their parking site is, I should be able to advise you if it is a good or bad idea and if it is a secure site..I am however flying out early tomorrow to the middle east on business so will need to know pronto.

Don't forget also that not all operations are 24 hours so check your return times and site opening times carefully.

Thanks Helicopter and all others. It actually looks like the other BR might actually work out cheaper for this trip, so that's the option I'll probably take. Pray for me on the Gatwick Express...

I don't know where you live AN Other but Gatwick Express is much more expensive than the local trains although faster and with more luggage room.

If you are coming from London Victoria use the Connex services to Brighton or Littlehampton , a couple only stop at East Croydon and Gatwick and they are cheaper. Try to avoid the rush hour 4 pm on ex Victoria with the City Nigels yammering incessantly on their mobiles....drives me insane.

Once again check availability of services if you are returning 1st January.
