Can anyone tell me how to drain the cooling system on an astra arctic hatch (R reg)

Is this in preparation to change the antifreeze?
If so, get the system hot enough for the thermostat to open (check top hose to see if warm to the touch) and then undo the bottom hose on the rad and take off. You won't get it all out, but you'll get sufficient out to be able to change the a/freeze.

There is no bottom hose on the rad or drain plug.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a drain plug, but there *must* be a hose that connects from the bottom of the radiator to the engine. Just undo that one at the radiator end.

You won't get it all out, but you'll certainly get the majority of it out.
