Good car veleter in the West Mids - NeilB
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good car veleter in the West Midlands, as the inside of my car needs a damn good clean and I dont want some cowboy out the yellow pages doing a bodge job.

The very best valeting is by oneself, advised/assisted by SWMBO, regardless of district! And it's always cheaper.

There is one on the Birmingham New Road (just after the Cosely turn offs) which always has a massive queue of cars waiting to be washed and do a great job, but not sure if they do insides too.

There is a good one in Kings Winford which did a nice job on my flatmate's car after it had been to the beach. I can't remember the name of the place though, other than it's been there about a year and has bright pink display boards outside. I'll try and find the leaflet.

Please, please, can so many people stop referring to valeting as VALETTING
I know that valeting is a combination of the French "valet" and the English "ing", but really the correct pronounciation of "valet" is "VALLAY" so we should say VALLAYING, with the stress on the final syllable.

we should say VALLAYING

Why can't we just say cleaning?

I've had a look in the yellow pages and the only one I can find in Kingswinford is called Soapy Jo's, dunno if that's it or not.
Good car veleter in the West Mids - PoloGirl
No, I don't think it's Soapy Jo, and now I think of it, it might be in Wordsley rather than Kingswinford. Hmmm...I just remember it being pink!

Sorry..I'll ask flatmate if he remembers when he gets in.

Well we went at the weekend and it is still there, and is still pink. It's in Stallings Lane, just as you get to KingsWinford.

Coming from Wolverhampton, when you get to the big junction shown on the map, you need to go left into Stallings Lane, and the car wash place is on the right almost immediately. It doesn't appear to have a name but has pink banners and hawaiian looking symbols on it.

(The people who own it, also own the clothes washing place next door, so you might spot the "Drop Your Pants Here" sign before you spot the car wash.)

Hope that helps, sorry it took so long!

I'd go anywhere in mainland UK to valet a car if the price was right, but my charges would be absolutely extortionate ~ I wouldn't expect any takers! Don't mind valeting my own provided that the weather is nice when I wash it. I can then put it in my garage with my dehumidifier on and vacuum/polish it in there next day when it's dry.

L\'escargot by name, but not by nature.

Thank you very much, hopefully the front seats of my car will now resemble something like the back seats.

You may make reference to the times/sunday times as in "there was this article mentioned in the times", for example, but do not post the link - whether it's clickable or not.

I would recommend MCV. This is a franchise company, and the guy in Manchester, George, is fantastic. Spent over 6 hours on a snowy day last Feb working on my car, on a full valet. Don't know how good the guy with the midlands franchise would be.

They come to your home, or place of work, or anywhere else you like.
