V reg 2.5 Vectra Estate 54k. Pre-facelift model (!) Very Basic spec
apart from a/c, even has manual mirrors !
|
No idea. Last time I looked at a Parkers guide I noticed there were about 1000 of different variations on a Vectra which seemed to account for most of the guide.
I'm not being much help am I ...

Pre-facelift? On a V? With odd spec? Is it ex-police possibly? What colour is it?
Assuming it's something sensible like metallic red and from a normal background, I reckon about £2,500 in a private sale but there's a lot of scope for someone to really want one, or not as the case may be.

That's what threw me. Its in some sort of Metallic brown (for want of a better description) - it is in very clean condition, no unexpected holes. I thought it may be ex MOD, current owner has had it since it had 40k on it. It's an oddity.

I don't want to sound patronising but by pre facelift, do you mean the very first Vectra or the one before the one that it out now?
Also, is it a chocolaty metallic sort of colour?

Pre facelift any Vectra between an N and T plate would nicely place my definition. The latest Vectra is a bit more than a facelift. I don't feel patronised.

Sorry - a metallic choc. colour would be right.

It could be ex bill. My one and only speeding ticket was delivered in 1983 by two officers in a metalic brown Austin Princess!
(mind you - I was trying to race them away from the lights - I mean a Brown Princess? you just doint expect.......)

I seem to remember a no frills V6 Cavalier with no spec at all many years ago, think it was called the Cesaro?
Maybe this is the Vectra no frills V6 version too. It's unusual and rare 'cos no one bought them, after all who wants a basic V6. (what's the point?) Manual mirrors? what is the world coming to?
|
I'd also go with the old bill. I saw a red, most basic looking Vectra (newest shape) in red with a nice 3.2 badge on the back. We were in traffic so I could have a nosy in. Uniformed cop, but couldn't see anything at heater level (nor a camera) that gave away it's true job...of course, until it took off, sirens wailing.
