I appreciate that if you travel in the cotswolds this may be uncommon, but today I didn't drive through the centre of Cheltenham - not for the first time.

Presumably en route from sunny Telford to Poole. Who did not look at Teletext / listen to radio then. Should have gone off at Jct6 amd thro Evesham/Stow et. et. for a change and also not that much traffic today...
Happy Commuting Phil I

Were you on a mission to find somewhere worse than Telford?
Or, are you on a mission to see how many replies you can get to a silly posting?

No sillier than some of the others I've seen this week.....

I knew about it on the M54 but kind of hoped it would be clear by the time I got down there. Ah well.

Whats wrong with Cheltenham?
A place of regency tranquility, attunement to the finer things in life, stop a while, visit a few restuaraunts, take the air,
reflect on the song " all the nice girls live in Cheltenham " on the other hand if you have no taste for the finer things, Welcome to Sunny Glauster.

I'll remember my last visit to a Cheltenham "restaurant" for the rest of my life.
We were in a curry house and all but I took them up on the 10p extra for extra hot offer.
As the food arrived we tried to order more lager but it had just gone midnight and they wouldn't serve any more drinks.
The sight of my mates with their heads in the fishtank trying to cool their mouths down after the extra hot remains clear in my mind, even though it happenned a few years back.

Adelaide has a suburb named Cheltenham, noted (only) for its race track. Obviously Cheltenham in England was therefore named after it.
The way I heard it the English place is pronounced 'Cheltnum', obviously to distance itself from its antipodean cousin.
