From the article;
"Roundabouts are designed by engineers so that there's a clear view of the traffic coming from the right. It should be easy to see if there's enough time to pull out, or not."

It should be easy, but after the engineers have done their stuff, along come the planters and road furniture experts. Even from the height of my MPV I find chevron signs and untrimmed bushes obscure the view of ciculating traffic.

There is a book around "top 50 roundabouts in the uk" or soemthing like that. Nicolle wanted to buy it for my birthday. I told her I would remove the wheels from clio if she did.

ONly one roundabout warrants a mention, Just outside Camberley, used to have a pub in the middle. Sadly the regular clientelle kinda died out........

I worked just outside Camberley about 14 years ago and used to frequent that isolated pub on Friday lunchtimes. Crossing the road to it was always a sobering experience! Now long gone unfortunately.

I did not want to draw too much attention to the possibility hence a Tinyurl link.

The the approaches to the roundabouts at J9 of the M25 have all been equiped with High fences between the carriageways to ensure you have to almost stop before entering the roundabout

Must keep to a motoring topic.
