To gain access to the car.....
Visit a Rover dealer with supporting evidence that you are the owner of the car.
Request the key number; they should be able to have a key cut to that number, enabling you entry into the car.
Do you know your emergency access code for the immobiliser?

Once again our intrepid rover owner escapes the clutches of the main dealer! In the middle of the afternoon I got the news that someone had found my keys! SteveO,rest assured I value your contributions greatly, the vacuum pump was replaced by a unit from the breakers with a 6 month guarantee for the grand sum of £37.50 and is working fine, thanks again for your help on that.A phone call to main dealers revealed the replacement cost of key fob (or blipper as it seems to be known) to be a measly £165 (not sure if that included vat).I may be speaking from a position of ignorance hear but how can it cost that amount of money? Those in the know feel free to enlighten me I,m always keen to learn.......
