I'm slightly confused (nothing new). I used to have my breakdown cover with Green Flag. A few years ago I'm sure they were taken over by Direct Line and I was duly transferred into the care of Direct Line. However, in the past few months I've noticed that Green Flag still exists in it's own right. Have I been hijacked? I'm sure I've never made the conscious decision to switch from Green Flag to Direct Line - or is it the first sign of old age!

Well there website still exists so i guess so does company www.greenflag.co.uk/breakdown/index.asp
I think It's the onset of old age, bless you..

I was also transferred to Direct Line. I've still got the Green Flag and National Breakdown details showing continuous cover since 1982.
I think Green Flag is in same ownership but does mainly bulk/corporate business e.g. they cover Citroens during the guarantee period.

.......which probably means they're very busy.

You really should be getting new quotes every year.If you stay with the same company for some strange reason, what started out as a cheap quote creeps up year after year....
|
And bizarrely, you will get different prices for the same breakdown cover on GreenFlag and Directline websites.
Don't forget, if you've got a Barclays current account wth an Additions option, you will have GreenFlag breakdwon cover already, so don't pay for it unless you want hire cars and recovery.

This is news to me. We get new letters and cards and little tax disc holders from Green Flag every year!
In fact, I used them last year when my keys were locked in the car.....whilst the engine was running.
