VW 100 PD engine

VW 100 PD engine - Sprice
Currently thinking of getting a diesel, and am quite keen on a Bora I've seen with the 100 PD engine. I have read CBCB (of course!)but would appreciate any advice offered. Is it underpowered for the car, should I forget it and get a 110 Tdi version or a 130PD? The car last had a service 4k ago, presume these have got variable service programmes?

Test drove the Bora 100PD a while ago, and although a nice car, the 115 or 130 Sport PD is nicer - the seats in the standard Bora lack side support, IMHO, and with the 6-speed box uses less fuel on motorway runs. The Bora handles nicer than the Golf IV, but not as nice as my Beetle.

The 110 is the older, non-PD, engine, and needs more frequent service intervals, I think.

Seeing as I collect a 100PD at the weekend, I hope it's good! I've read nothing about it to cause concern.

If 100Bhp isn't enough, there's a few companies chipping/reprogramming them including jabbamotorsport. Read of one chap with 150BHp out of it, although that sounds like stretching it a bit to me.
