Anybody had experience of Isuzu suffering from very bad pulling power below 2000rpm? Turbo lag? Quite frankly completely gutless below approx 2000rpm until turbo kicks in and then not satisfactory. Diesel additive required? New air cleaner?

Have you checked the valve clearances - they are shimmed, they tend to close up, and are frequently ignored at service. I would suggest they are checked every 18,000 miles.

Yeah, check valve clearances for sure, also, give it a general servive including fuel filter. Bear in mind, they are slightly gutless below 2000 rpm, theyre only approx.84bhp after all! Firstly though, check valve clearances.
