Vw Golf Mk 5 Brakes - Jonwm {P}
Hello

I have just been reading the various brake threads on here and have got a bit of a situation myself.

My Brake pad wear indicator has come on today and i've only done 17k miles, i do drive a bit fast and brake hard but wondered what the average expectancy was, i have got to try and put a case forward to my vehicle engineer at work monday, hes not going to be happy, especially when i got through a set of fron tyres in 14k.

Any views on a suggested approach would be good too!

Cheers

Jon

Ha! Very good!

Does seem a little premature, but I guess it must be down to your braking habits....

cheaper than a clutch. i use my brakes and not the clutch to slow down

Think that would depend on how often you change pads?

Why not try different brake pads (and discs?) intended for consistent hard use such as those from:

As for tyres, solid ones with a tread at least 20mm deep might prove more long lasting...:-)
