Everyone's out of step but me - Robin Reliant
A woman who appeared in court after driving for thirty miles the wrong way up the M4 at speeds of up to 80mph told the court that she thought everyone else was on the wrong carriageway and she had to keep swerving to avoid them.

She was banned for five years.

The report did not state whether she was driving a BMW.

Everyone's out of step but me - Imagos
A scenario that happened to me quite recently.. meeting a car coming in the wrong direction on a duel carriageway. Scared the living daylights out of me, i was quite literally shaking with fear and a heartbeat of 150bpm after an elderly gentleman in a Rover 200 passed me an several other cars quite oblivious to the potential horror of the situation. Something I never want to experience again. Luckily he got away with it as no collisions occured. This sort of thing scares me like no other.

Many years ago I was riding a 25 mile time trial where the course started on a lane near Basildon and joined the A127 where it headed in the direction of London for about ten miles before heading back again. A non local rider headed off from the start and reaching the A127 junction astonished the marshalls by turning right instead of left and heading off down the dual carraigeway in the wrong direction. Luckily it was early on a Sunday morning and traffic was considerably lighter in those days, but he got as far as the next junction about a mile down the road before the penny dropped.

He received a six month ban from competition for his error.
