Well funds may soon be returning to the Thommo wallet and a worthy successor to the Supra may soon be needed.
I have read much abour Nissan 200SX's lately and it seems you can have an R reg high spec (touring) one of these fire breathing monsters in sheeps clothing for about 2 1/2 Archers, which seems a fair bargain.
Yes I have read the guide, although I'm not quite sure what a cxamshaft is, but does anyone have ownership tales to tell of these beasts?

I think an R reg for 2.5k will have done loads of miles. A good friend test drove a few looking to buy a cheap one. All the ones he saw had poor bodywork or noisy turbos and felt tired and baggy. These cars all had around 100k on them. I drove one a few months ago that had done 110k and it felt a bit tired.
They are great cars but the bushes can wear and the suspension is complex. I think that a good 97R with 60k will cost you nearer 4k for a manual touring.
"Fire breathing"- maybe if its modified. In standard trim whatcar (dont know how good/accurate their tests are) got 6.7secs 30-70, so its quick, but i wouldnt say fire breathing. You can do all kinds of things to the engine. Stick a wideband lamda in and some electrics and you can safely run much higher boost pressures which i would guestimate would give you 250bhp . Still nowhere near a Supra twin turbo though!
You might get a decent Celica ST185 for 2.5k though.

An Archer is £2,000. So 2 1/2 Archers is £5,000.

An Archer is £2,000.
Wow. Southern prices never fail to amaze me. I can get a double archers in my local pub for about £2.50.
For my wife of course.
OK. For me really. :o

Ah. Silly me. As soon as i posted that message i wondered.
I think 5k should be enough for a good one. Check Ebay there are usually a few on there.
