hi all,
please can someone help me. i did have i warranty on my omega but the company has gone bust..... so i need to find a new company to cover my 10yr old motor. its sods law that now the firm has gone bust my motor needs some repair's done to it so i need a new warranty on it asap..... please help me if you know of any GOOD warranty companys that cover motor's of over 10yr old...

You'll be lucky to find one that does cars that are older than ten years, when warranty holdings went bump the firm i used to work for switched to using lumley warranties but they've got a 10 year/100k miles limit. Thinking about it if you already have an existing problem i doubt they'd fix that anyway.

Er, no, and no warrenty company is going to cover existing faults.
|
the fault has only just poped up so what to get some cover so i can give it 2/3 weeks then make the claim... i was with warranty holdings.....

sarcasm mode on. if only everyone had a similar attitude of mind, and made good use of thier warranties (after all that is why these companies are in business?) ;-) , soon they will all go bust. and we motorists will be rich instead of the bankrupt businesses.

In my experience most warranty firms usually find some way of wriggling out of paying for repair work on new problems let alone exisiting ones!

Lets hope whichever company you choose isn't a subscriber to this forum. I'm sure they won't take too kindly to any fraudulent claims. Especially now they have it writing what you're planning.

my god i stick way the rules person.... how can this be a fraudulent claim??? the garage will do the work and then be paid for it by the warranty firm. it not as if im going to get the money in my pocket. if you had a £600 problem with your motor what would you do??? pay for it yourself or pay about £300 for a warranty and get them to pay....
|
It becomes fraudulent when you admit you aren't going to tell them about the problem until you have bought the warranty.
Not judging though - what you do is up to you but as Dave said - posting it on the internet probably wasn't the best idea.

You cannot be serious? Have you insurance on your house or are you going to wait until it burns down and then get some?

Have you stopped for a moment to consider why your current warranty company has gone bust? Maybe other people tried a similar tactic to what you're considering!!!!
On top of you making a fraudulant claim, the garage would also be in trouble as well. Obtaining money by deception, perhaps.

That's fraud. Which, as you seem to be hazy, is against the law.

the garage i use will not touch the car unless i pay the full bill. he has said that he knows of 7 people who have paid for the warranty work on there car\'s and then they have to send the bill off to claims. but all 7 have never been paid as yet. 3 of them have been waiting for over 3 months.
