Please excuse my ignorance but what does this mean?
Cheers

They turn the beams with the steering.

Bit confused now - someone else says it\'s where the lights stay on for a bit after you leave the vehicle???

They turn the beams with the steering.
So this was not the correct meaning in the modern world. But I was curious to know if there is a modern car with this feature, which I think was invented by citroen. We used to have a DS.

Headlights stay on for a while after car is locked up. Supposedly to light the way to the front door.
Would not go down well with my neighbours as headlights point at their windows.

I wasna fu but just had plenty.

Useless for me too, my drive is at 90 degs to the house!

On the remote locking fob for my V70 is a yellow button, which when first pressed switches on all side lights front and rear, plus the lights under each door mirror. Press it again, and they go off. Don't press it again, and they go off anyway after a period of time. I think all current Volvos have this feature, though stand to be corrected.
Although I wish the dipped headlights also came on, I find even just having sidelights come on is very convenient when returning to the car outside my parents house, at night. They live in the coutryside, and night tends to mean pitch black. Without it, sometimes you can't even see the car!
Having the additional lights under the door mirrors is also handy, as they give a good pool of light to help ensure you don't hit anything with the door, or trip on the kerb, which I once painfully did a long time ago.

These are, as stated, headlights incorporating a delay of approximately half-a-minute to allow you to find your front door key and let yourself in (providing you've managed to find your own house)....
|
So they are -- now I remember. Doh!
|
SjB the Volvo does have a follow me home facility for the headlights. Just pull the main beam stalk after you have taken the key out and they stay on for about 30 secs.

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?
|
Well, you never stop learning!
TVM Espada III. :-)
I thought I'd been through the manual with a fine tooth comb, but prompted by your post, I now realise that somehow I missed page 37!
I guess they don't come on as approach lighting, activated from the remote fob, as this could be counter productive and cause dazzle.

My Vectra has these. Before getting out the vehicle, flick the dip/main headlight stalk and the front dipped headlights and reversing lights come on for a period of time. 30 secs if you close all the doors, or 2 mins if you leave the drivers door open.

Says the man with a broken down Alfa, which, IIRC, was caused by electrical problems.

Not much use in my garage either.

My wife's Punto has these at sub £6k
|
My 75 has these but only if you do the following.
Leave lights on, turn off ignition, turn off lights - you then get 10 seconds of 'follow you home'.
If you off the lights and then the ignition, no 'follow you home'.
Nice touch.

I thnk you'll find they are called "fall out" headlamps
|
lol!
No it's no that bad but I do remember that happening to my old F Ref Escort. The rear bit of the headlight used to provide a delactable meal for the old tin worm.
|
Follow me home headlamps all sounds a bit saucy to me...:-))
