Does anybody know how easy it would be to fit a power socket in the boot of a zafira? The wiring is present but is not powered. Any ideas?

A total guess - a fuse might be needed to be put in a vacant slot in the fuse box. Take a look in the handbook at the fuses section and it will tell you which fuse it should be.

The fuse section in the handbook was my first port of call. Fuse 36 is for cigarette lighter, but no mention of accessory socket anywhere.

Dont know the car.But would think if wiring their but not connected to a socket.which wasnt mentioned.I doubt any provisions in fuse box either.if a socket connected in most cases provision will be made for fuse.but this will depend on manufacturer.as I dont know it may be wrong? apart from what DD said.

I`ll have a look at mine.Which side is it? Is the socket not fed through a blank or what? I am an electronics engineer so can have a crack at it.

The space for the socket is behind the panel on the drivers side. There is a blanking grommet that comes out and the cable is behind it if you stick your finger in.
