Just goes to show that nobody was doing any work ...

How many of the 5619 were members, and how many actually posted? We must have a huge amount of 'silent' backroomers i would have thought

Hawesy - if you are a backroomer, that is probably the main reason you now visit the HJ website, but many visitors may come for other reasons and never visit the backroom.

A few years ago I used Which (the consumer association) as an ISP, and they had "The Forums" which was something like the back room in reverse i.e. 99% 'i have a question (complaint/moan/grouse/whinge) and 1% motoring
I can't remember the number of members, but bearing in mind it was a talking shop for people who all thought they had something to say, I seem to remember that something like 10-5% ever posted at all, and 2-1% posted regularly

I must say that my experience of the WOL forums makes me realise what a good bunch the back roomers are !

Thank heavens most of the visitors don't come to the BR. The thought of 5,000+ people viewing my incoherent ramblings fills me with dread!

Congratulations on another milestone, HJ...
if I haven't said it before ... this excellent site has added a new and delightful (hey ,even educational) dimension to my spare time - many thanks to the Captain, all who help sail the ship and the BRs who contribute on such a wide and diverse range of topics with such expertise and humour.

Well deserved - let's hope this doesn't become the M25 of motoring forums.

Let's hope the sponsors are as pleased.

Thanks due in no small part to the mods, I think.

Most of us have had our knuckles rapped by the edge of their rulers at one time or another and had a quiet fume about posts being removed. But having occassionally visited other forums dealing with subjects in which I have an interest and seeing the juvenile shambles they are allowed to develop into, you can see why a firm hand is needed.

Good mods are like traffic wardens. We often want to park on their heads, but we couldn't exist without them.

Tom - so far I think you win the award for the Eric Cantona of the BR. ;)
