I will likely need to do a head swap / new engine on my Camry soon so recommendations for Toyota specialists in the Thames Valley / North Hampshire area (Slough to Basingstoke)would be gratefully received.

Toyotas, like most Japanese cars, tend not to go wrong very often so there is not enough repair business to support 'independent specialists'.
You might have more luck trying one of the Jap import specialists who do SVA's and repair work on grey imports.

Alternatively try one of the Japanese used engine importers. There used to be one called 'Kokusai' in Coventry and another is Chesterfield (can't remember the name).

To be honest, with a Camry of your vintage just get hold of a good warranted imported engine and find a local 'all makes' independent to put it in. These are straightforward cars.

Cheers - chimes with the advice I have subsequently got - Messrs API Engines seem to be the better bet so will go with them and a recommended local indepedent.
