Not yours... OURS!
Midnight last night the petrol price was due to rise by 38c a litre - pushing it close to R5/litre*. Paraffin (essential for heating and cooking in rural areas - and it's winter here) due to go up 42c/litre.
So what happens? the govt, who control the price anyway, step in and say "Too inflationary. Can't be done. The people wqill suffer", and dipped into the coffers to make up the shortfall.
Increase now a more-affordable 30c for both petrol and paraffin.
Nice to know WE have thinking politicians...
