Has anyone had problems with engine stalling ,idle speed appears
to vary,performance is ok.
Any ideas.

Yes I had similar problems with a T reg Matiz. I adjusted the idle speed - the accelerator cable is reasonably accessible, sort of above the engine block. That seems to have fixed the stalling problem.
Occasionally the idle speed seems to go all over the place, not revving excessively but up and down. Not figured that one out yet - I can't make the problem occur - it just does it when it wants to!

distributors are very prone to failure. possible fault ?
aftermarket ones are availble (although OE sourced)
