Vauxhall Omega 2.5 (1995) is cutting out or over revving in first few miles of most journeys (even after being used earlier in the day)when I slow down (e.g. for roundabouts, traffic lights). This is frightening!! Any suggestions as to cause?

The idle air valve sticking is a common problem, I think you can remove it and wash it with solvent, I'm afraid I have never done it myself though!

(ps, this is obtainable by holding down the shift key before clicking on the "technical guide" menu button. What it does is opens a separate browser window (In Internet Explorer anyway)
