Saw one today, making \"progress\" on a country road, very striking
and pretty, not sure about the gob though, Mr Bangle would have been proud of that.

I saw one today too, making rather less progress in city traffic. I'm sure it will make an excellent minicab in time, although I also thought it was pretty Banglesque. Overall I really liked the styling although I'm not sure that it's worth putting that much cash into a Peugeot.
(Pretty may make a better adverb than adjective when applied to this car).

that guy (the one that needs a haircut) on 5th gear last night didn't think much of it. I'll reserve judgement 'till i've had a drive.

Barge+French=weak residuals
Traditional company car market is receding anyway; all the action for mass market brands is Focus class and below.
Okay looks but if it's your money don't go there.

I saw my first 407 in the flesh the other day, nice, but it does look as though it's going along trying to swallow bugs!
Apparently they're going to put a similar front on the facelifted 307. I'm not a fan of facelifts on cars, they rarely look better than the original design, but in this case it would be an improvement.
Cheers, SS

Didn't HJ put a link here, week or so back offering heavy discounts, already??
Yet to see one in the flesh (metal), but reckon the estate, or rather 'Station Wagon' looks quite smart.

Front looks like it's caught fire and the driver's tried to put it out with a shovel.

Front looks like it's caught fire and the driver's tried to put it out with a shovel.
Given the habits of its smaller sibling, this is a distinct possibility!

Looks far better than awful "soap dish" 607. Bet the diesel versions will make awesomely good long-distance working cars. Like any non-prestige mid-size, it's obviously not the best place for new private money.

Saw one the other day...thought the mouth looked a bit too big; but otherwise rather nice - and the SW looks gorgeous in photos IMHO, not seen one in the flesh yet. Also saw an MB SLR in black yesterday, looked like a batmobile. Thought to myself 'one door handle on that car probably costs more than my entire car's worth' !

A bit!!!! One came towards me while I was walking the other day and I instinctively jumped into a hedge. Thought it was going to swallow me whole...

Drove a 2.0 136HP SE saloon last night.
The first volume car in ages that turns heads as I drove it around.
Excellent ride and handling. Well equipped and that 2.0 16v diesel with the 6 speed box the best diesel I have driven.
Deserves to do really well but time will tell.....

Yup, but I'm not sure that Peugeot were aiming to make people avert their gaze in horror. It looks like a James Bond prop; I keep expecting to see one with a tractor-beam, pulling in smaller cars and holding them prisoner.

I've always wondered if the 407's catchphrase "Playtime is over" a swipe at the Laguna's "Serious playtime"?

Re the fire and shovel post, I saw a 406 estate on fire on the M20 yesterday morning - engine fire. A known problem?
