Getting a slight judder at 85 in the Mondeo, and havent noticed anything obviously wrong with the suspension, so have decided to have the wheels balanced and tracking checked.
Does anyone here recommend anywhere in Newcastle, and which are the best of the national tyre chains? National , Kwik Fit etc etc

Some are good, some not. Ask around, or do a forum search, it's been discussed before.

Wheel balancing normally just involves the 'mechanic' doing what the balancing machine tells him to. Since it only costs a couple of quid and takes 5 minutes I recommend going wherever's most convenient (in terms of time and location) and watching over the shoulder as they do the balance.

I just wondered whether there were any chains that were noticeably better appointed to check and adjust tracking and balance wheels.

I thought wheel balancing in Newcastle was when someone was making off with a pair of your wheels, one under each arm.... :-)
