1303 Beetles - Mad Maxy
Why do I never see any 1303 Beetles (with the curved front screen) any more? Surely not all gone to Beetle heaven?

They're not as collectible as the torsion-bar types, so they aren't restored as much. There are also a few unique problems with the steering and front suspension which can make for an unstable feeling. The 1300 and 1600 twin port engines perhaps weren't VWs finest hour of Beetle reliability either? Despite style gurus telling me otherwise, I'm not convinved that 70s style is the best, especially when it comes to Beetles!

Or maybe people don't want to drive something that looks so much like a New Beetle? ;-)
