OMEGA CDX 98 2.5V6 Estate

The inevitable - two central instrumentation bulbs (tacho + speedo) are now off.
Any suggestions on how to get at them to replace?

Has anyone tried different colours (permanant marker pen on the bulb glass?), or replacing bulbs with Green or blue LEDs?. (There'll need to be a 470ohm series resistor for each, and the dimmer circuit might not work if it's a straight in-line resistive dimmer unit).

A quick forum search (located where you log in/out) reveals how to get to the bulbs:-

Don't do the coloured bulb thing, that's just so gay!
The instruction on the link above are good, that is what I did.
You can get LED versions of the bulbs for the new Corsa, which don't blow.
Some LED versions sold by Max Power saddo-types are useless, as the light is emitted in a narrow field and not picked up by the light-pipes which pickup the light from the sides of the bulb.

Thanks for that sooty....I trust you don't use coloured christmass tree bulbs either then.
