Have been looking at a problem with central locking and elec/windows.am getting 13.5 volts at feed side of fusebox from battery.at feed side of fuse only 4.5 volts whereas all other fuses are getting 13.5 volts.as I cannot find the circuit diagram for it wondered if anyone knows what the problem is.bearing in mind the relays are all working correctly as have been tried in another car the same.and am only getting 4.5 volts at motor end.have I missed something here or it a fusebox prob? thanks for any replies.

my mate has same problem on the same motor, just belled him and he said he had to change whole fusebox thingie, then prob was sorted, was something worn in the fusebox.hope this helps mate.

I would think this is very probably a fuse/relay box problem.A common fault on these escort /orion models of this year. There are likely to be poor solder joints within fuse box that are giving you the low voltages.Any competant auto/electro tech could repair this box .Don't bother with s/hand,they all have the same faults & a new one is more than the value of the car.

fusebord my mate got was cheaper than ford ill txt him now to get the companies name.

Not sure about the central locking, but the elecy windows fault could be the rocker switches. Certainly were problematic on earlier Escorts & Orions.

Thanks DD tried them in other car without a prob.I was told though they were new.I did think of that.thanks anyway.
