The TV coverage shows a different situation to the \" Tyre-slasher jailed\" headlines on the BBC link.

He appeared to use a quite small screwdriver to attack the tyres. It would appear that the effect was a slow or very slow puncture. The TV coverage showed that the impact was difficult to see. I would suggest that the slow puncture was even more dangerous than an obvious flat.
From the reports, approx 55 vehicles a day, 170 tyres a day is some considerable effort by this strange individual.

It was a bit close to ND land. (this statement has no connection with any of the above observations!) Boscombe - home of the un-taxed car and DSS hostels. Charming area. ND

I did smile at the TV coverage of a lady victim with a stirrup pump posing with her car.

Is a warning message some sort of holder for a screwdriver?

I'd be surprised if some left-wing council doesn't employ him as a tyre warden in 6 months when he'll be let out on license.

Well they could employ him if he was only to operate on the tyres of untaxed and uninsured vehicles? :-)
