I have a rover 416sli 1991 auto and mondeo 1,8 auto.
Both clock backlights have gone out!. Is it possible to prise these from their holdings and replace the bulbs? Any other cause? Thanks for any help.

If it is the Mk1 Mondy then gently lever the clock unit out from the bottom. Rover I believe is similar.

Simplicate and add lightness!!

Hi,

For the Rover, carefully prise the fake wood strip thing off, starting by the passenger door.

Mine has a dodgy connection, rather than a blown bulb, and a tap on the front of the clock makes it light up again briefly.

Cheers,
Mark

Point of Order Mark:

The wood in this car really is wood. At the point I left Rover in 1998 I can state with certainty that Rover had never fitted any fake wood to any car. Real wood was one of Rovers 'Marque Values'.

Having recently rejoined Land Rover, as far as I know this policy remains in force.

Nah, the wood is now fake plastic wood, in the 75 at least.

Shame.
