Somebody once told me about the major diversion routes, signed from the motorways etc with little yellow circles, triangles, etc. Do they really work ( when the motorways are closed, etc ) ?

If it's anything to do with a closure of the M25 the answer will be no, simply because everything within 20 miles seems to just get so gridlocked you can't move therefore becomes a tad academic I'm afraid.

Experienced them in operation around Glasgow years ago, and it made it easier than trying to follow vague signs saying just "diversion", or complex signs showing multiple routes for different destinations. "Follow the square" was much easier!
