My wifes Focus has just blown the rear window heater fuse and the dash light fuse both at the same time.
However having replaced both failed fuses and despite have checked all the other fuses I still cannot get the nearside dipped headlight to or light the rear number plate lights.(Side lights/parking and full beam are ok.)
This suggests a bulb/ relay problem but I can't understand why the rear number plate lights won't light which having checked are ok .
Before I rush off buying new bulbs/relays does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You could try swapping the nearside and offside headlight bulbs to check that one. As for the rear number plate bulbs, it would be unusual, but not impossible, for both bulbs to fail at the same time and I think they are on the same circuit as one side of the tail lights so if it was not the bulbs then I would think the tail lights would not work. You may not have noticed one of the number plate lights out before so I would say it's bulbs.

Re numberplate units. Mine and others have a problem with them turning into rain holders. Be careful when you have unclipped them as the connectors are very very flimsy, make poor connections and are different size connectors each end of the unit. I bought two replacement in Sep for £12.50 then had to cobble up the connectors.
